God's plan for us is being carried out every second,every moment of our lives.When we are in accord with his plan we are at peace even in the midst of the gravest difficulties.When we are not cooperating with his plan for us we are restless and unhappy no matter how good things appear to be going.If we want to be his disciples we must,he tells us,keep his commandments and take up our cross.Nowhere does he promise a life of ease in this world,but he does promise to be yoked with us under the beams of our cross and to give power to our suffering when we offer it to him and unite it to his cross.The reward awaits us beyond the grave for a life well lived and fruitfulness in this world beyond our wildest dreams,even though we may never see the results of our work in this life.
